Compassion – a thought, or an act! Mark 6:30-34

Itʼs good to be able to talk to people, to get together and have a chat. We like to share our experiences,
both good and bad. That listening ear is most important for both young and old alike. You could imagine the excitement of Jesusʼ disciples when they returned and told Jesus of the things that they had done. He would have had stories coming from every which way. The disciples had a need to tell all about their work, the things they had done and taught. We live our lives in a way that basically satisfies our personal needs. Our lives revolve around us. In our text, Jesus saw two different sets of needs – the need for
the disciples to have rest, and the need of those “who were like sheep without a shepherd,” the ones who kept intruding, chasing after Jesus. I suppose when people intrude on our comfortablCompassion – a thought, or an act!
