Living Faith? Luke 16:19-31

It is interesting that we Christians hear, and I trust know, what the gospel of Jesus Christ is and says. But have we learned to ingest it so
that it becomes part of our daily lives? Or is it just a Sunday thing? Is it just what the Pastor preaches on Sunday? In other words, we turn up to worship, that’s if we do, and then when we leave, we leave the gospel behind in the church until next week.

Perhaps the gospel hasn’t spoken to your heart yet. It can only do that if
it is read and heard. And if it has reached your heart, perhaps you wonder what you are to do with it. Perhaps you wonder if you should share it, and if so, how? What will people say if I mention Jesus in a conversation?
What stops us from taking the joy of the gospel and telling other people
outside the church about it and actually living it in what we do. Can Jesus
be part of a conversation without us feeling embarrassed or fearful that
we may offend someone? Christians do get watched by others to see if
they live what they preach, if their lives reveal their faith. Have a read
of the readings for this week and listen to what God wants to say to you in
the here and now.
