In all He does He is faithful and just
Psalm 111 is a Psalm of praise to God the creator of all things. Yet it doesn’t require faith in God to delight in his work. Over and over, people around the world stand in awe of the wonders of creation, from the most miniscule marvels to the mysteries of the universe. How is it that I woke this morning, that my heart keeps beating, and that I can fill my lungs with air and breathe? How is it that I know that I am loved?
In our Gospel reading, Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one recognised the healer. We all love to receive good gifts in this life, whether they be wealth or health or any of the many other good things. Do we just take them for granted? Do we really understand where and how they come about?
The Psalmist says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom, all who follow his precepts have good understanding.” Do we also take for granted the gift of salvation, the most precious gift of all? Above all, do we recognise the giver, Jesus, the one who gave his all for you?
Praise God in everything.
